February App of the month – To Do

Table of Contents

As we step into February, we are excited to introduce you all to the new app of the month. Last month we spoke about Planner, a Microsoft app ideal for helping you plan out your projects and take control of your projects. This month, we will be exploring more about the To Do app and how it can be used to benefit you.

What is To Do?

If you are an expert in Planner following our last App of the month, you’ll be excited to learn that To Do and Planner work very well in conjunction with each other. To Do was created to bring together all Microsoft tasks in one place, whether that be from Outlook, Planner or OneNote, all your tasks are visible in one location. This is a great tool to have, as it gives you a bird’s eye view of all your tasks and allows you to plan out your day-to-day workload easily.

The To Do app is available within your Microsoft 365 Account, and can be downloaded on all your devices, helping to keep you notified and up to date with all your tasks. However, if this is less your style, Microsoft has introduced a To Do extension within Outlook (under icons), so you have a view of all tasks whilst monitoring your emails.

How can To Do benefit my business?

In real life, everyone has a to-do list. If we are being honest with ourselves, we all probably have about 5 or 6 different to-do lists lying around the office, waiting for our attention.

Within Microsoft, there any many ways of recording your tasks depending on what applications you use, but the great thing about To Do is that it integrates with all of these to bring your tasks together in one place.

Perhaps you have a list of all your project tasks in Planner, a list of your daily tasks in OneNote, and a different list of your flagged emails in Outlook. It would be quite easy for some of these actions to get forgotten, especially if you don’t open one of these apps for a day. With To Do, you don’t have to go into every App. To Do displays all your tasks in one view, helping you to plan out your day nice and clearly.

So where do I start?

If you’ve got this far into the blog, you’re probably looking to get started with To Do, so where should you begin? Firstly, we recommend downloading the App to your devices, whether a phone, tablet or online via Microsoft 365.

Once you’re signed in and have familiarised yourself with the display of To Do and how it navigates, set up a shared list with your colleagues. (Or one for yourself if you’d prefer!)

Check out how your flagged emails integrate with the To Do app so you can begin planning your workload for the day!
