Make the most of Microsoft 365

Table of Contents

If you use a computer for work or personal life, the chances are you use, and have used, Microsoft. It’s part of most people’s daily life, but how much do you actually know about it?

If you’re like the many users who simply open Word, Excel or PowerPoint to carry out a basic task, the good news is, you can do so much more.

Microsoft 365 is continually evolving, but aside from that, the existing product suite can do significantly more than many people are aware of, which means you’re potentially not extracting the full value from your investment.

By exploring the opportunities that Microsoft 365 presents, you could harness the potential; saving time, maximising efficiency and presenting your documents in the best way.

“But I’ve always done it like that”

At 365 Training Consultants, this is one of our favourite phrases, because it means there is so much to explore. We thrive when helping businesses to adopt the whole Microsoft package, but how do you go about that?

Find your champion

Whilst we offer group training, or one-on-one options, what we find works best in encouraging adoption throughout the company, is to find your champion(s). Who in your business can help to carry this knowledge forward, educating new joiners and reminding existing staff on a regular basis?

Without an in-house champion, the training could be short lived. Make sure your stakeholders are on board and get people involved at all levels for the greatest success.

Training

The training, and engagement during training, is essential for employee “buy in”. We have adapted our model over time to ensure we get the most from every single training session; with e-learning resources, activities and example documents. Not only does this enhance the training session, but the content helps to maintain the learning thereafter, by allowing colleagues to look back on the instructions and the sample document.

Futureproof your investment

By finding your champion and saving your e-learning resources, you can put processes in place to ensure that your future staff are “on board” with your Microsoft adoption, rather than starting from scratch each time.

We’re currently working with a charity who, understandably, have limitations on budgets. We’re overcoming this by training a small team in-depth and offering activities for self-learning, with PDFs, activity sheets and more, which can then be shared and championed internally.

Investing in a long-term process will always be more beneficial than one-off training to ensure your team is using Microsoft 365 to the max.

Back to work

With covid restrictions lifting, many businesses are either returning to work, or moving forward with a new way of working. Either way, it’s a window of re-adjustment for employers. What better time to invest in your employees and enhance their ability to use Microsoft 365 competently and efficiently, either in the office or remotely.

The full product suite offered by Microsoft 365 has been carefully crafted to meet the needs of pretty much any business and individual. Why do things the way you’ve always done them before? Let’s learn something new to make life easier…
